The Smith & Wesson CO2 pellet revolvers are complete duplicates of the legendary Smith & Wesson 357 in both weight and handling. Available in 4- and 6-inch barrel lengths with a 10-shot magazine that swings out for easy and realistic loading and replacement. This is one of the most smooth, accurate, and powerful CO2 pistols available. It is our marketing manager's favorite for control, accuracy and number of shots. Comes in a foam-lined plastic gun case.Smith & Wesson 586, 6-inch Barrel air pistol Review
Yes, this is likely the most expensive non-target air pistol out there. Yes, this is likley the most well make non-target air pistol out there. Yes, this is likely the most accurate non-target air pistol out there. Made in Germany by Umarex - and it shows. If you're not familiar with Umarex, you should be. They are the makers of many of the finest 'top of the line' air guns in the world. The short story is that this one is a total winner...if you can afford it. I have a Bianchi Cavalry style flap holster for it - fits like a glove and provides the protection that this one deserves in the field. Even though I'm right handed, since I was in the 11th U.S. Cavalry once upon a time, I find it fun to wear the revolver on my right hip, butt forward...Cavalry style (there really ARE valid reasons for doing it this way). Be that as it may, this is a solid, quality, super accurate revolver. But they are NOT made out out steel, as has been claimed by another reviewer. Well, PARTS of them are steel, but the frame and outer barrel are not steel. They are pot metal...but they are the FINEST pot metal! lol BTW: I looked at and held both the 4" and 6" versions before buying mine and I think the 6" has better balance...and if you shot them side by side you would shoot the 6" more accurately - the longer the barrel, the longer the sight radius, etc. This one is apparently not a big seller for Umarex and it has been rumored to be going out of production. Those rumors have been floating around for YEARS...but they keep on making 'em! Umarex gets a star in their crown for that, I'm thinkin'! The only competition to this model's design is the Crosman 357 which has been around for many years, sold in the millions no doubt, feels light and cheesy in comparrison...and goes for 1/5 of the cost of the S&W. Molded plastic as opposed to metal (but the FINEST molded plastic...like the Glok). The Crosman is durable and shoots well (I have one of those as well)...nothing wrong with it, really. But the S&W is the one I grab. My Crosman is there so the other guys will have something to play with - so they can keep their grubby little mitts off my 586, thank you very much. I don't own many things that are "the best" of anything...but this one is, and I do. You get what you pay for. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Smith & Wesson 586, 6-inch Barrel air pistol" are high quality item.
