InStep Safari Swivel Double Jogging Stroller (Blue/Khaki) Review

I got this stroller a few weeks ago and have walked plenty with it. It is so easy to maneuver and push. It is so agile! The seat backs do lay back a bit, which is a little weird for my almost 3 yr old, but is fine for my 6 monther. I had my heart set on the BOB duallie, but with a $500 price, it wasn't an option, this is a fine alternative. THe color combo is awesome-and the swivel wheel is incredible. I will never buy a jogging stroller without a swivel wheel after using this one!! It is a tad on the heavy side when folded, but it is still doable-

I do have some suggestions for InStep though, if anyone from there is reading my review!:

1. If you are going to continue to make a sun shade, at least make one that is functional that will actually

provide shade!! No sense wasting money producing the current shade version, it is practically useless. Charge a few bucks more and make a great one (I have a BOB single stroller and the shade is incredible!!!)

and

2. Provide some type of mesh pocket within the child's seat for them to put a water bottle/snack etc. There is great parent storage under this stroller-but nothing for the kids to utilize! (I ended up strapping the little parent console part onto to the bar in front of the kids so that my toddler can keep her snack there. It is an ok solution-but now I have nothing, and often her snacks/cups fall out.)

Was going to get a similar pack for much less but in the end I got this one and also ordered that similar bag. What a difference...WOW!! Heavier construction with much more attention to detail. If your looking for packs of this type then save yourself a lot of grief and just get this one. This one they really thought about a lot of scenarios while they were putting it together. The extra protection of the bottom on the outside of the gun sleeve. This protects the bag and thus the items inside from outside abrasion, none of the other similar bags even consider this, and that's just one of many, many extras. Well it would be extras on other bags but this is standard on this pack. Sewn webbing is uniform and heavy stitched, adding additional bags is easy and plentiful. Your biggest problem will be deciding on the color. One last note some of the pics show the olive green model to look kind of bright almost fluorescent...but its not; its a perfect drab olive green (universal). All the other attachments from different companies that I ordered matched color perfect. If you end up going ahead and getting the gun butt cover you may need to go to the Eberlestock website to get the cover in the color you want; all I could find on Amazon was one type of camo (western slope). In the gun slot I keep my Henry AR7 .22 rifle and my shotgun (basic Mossberg w/ some extra stock additions. Attached left side is shotgun sleeve that I use to hold my Diablo break down recurve bow and a waterproof box with the bow attachments. Right side is attached is a Fiskar 23" axe and my Gerber machette. Top is attached padded bag that holds my binoculars and is mounted in such a way that I can get them out with the pack on over my left shoulder and still allows me to pull my shotgun quickly out from the right. Sleeping bag & tent cinch up just under the main pack and up against the extended gun sleeve. Finally another bag (small) attached to the back of the pack that is just medical supplies.

I have used this charger for about a year now and just ran into some minor shorting trouble. I called Gallagher directly thinking, like most other companies, that I would have to go through countless reps before and if I was able to speak to anyone in tech support. I also had my credit card ready. The message says to push '2'for tech support. A gentleman answered and I explained the problem I was having. Not only was he able to resolve my issue quickly but he also and clearly was not in a hurry was concerned that he 'had' resolved the issue. He also did not mention a credit card. He gave me his name and said that if there was any problem not to hesitate to call. Plus he did not query as to whether the M300 was in or out of warranty. The M300 has worked flawlessly until this minor shorting issue. It is such a pleasure to find a company that actually addresses the needs of their customers and stands by their products with such outstanding assistance from their tech support.

Prorack Cargo Box 10 Review

It took me 3 weeks to research everything there is to consider for a cargo system and finally settled for the Prorack.
First it looks almost the same and probably made of the same materials as a Yakima or Thule. What sealed the deal was the price.

This is really worth the money. I'm glad i didn't get the more expensive Yakima or Thule. The Prorack is easy to install, is very aerodynamic, and is made of quality materials. At first I thought it's not going to hold out during the trip, but after almost 2,000 miles of traveling, it has exceeded all my expectations - rain or shine - no problems whatsoever. Will recommend to everybody I know. Save money on this one!

And for the guy who asked a couple of weeks ago: Yes, it will fit 2 golf bags!

Saris Axis Steel 4-Bike Rack, 1-1/4" or 2" Receiver Review

After first use: it’s fabulous.

# 1 reason: It’s 20 lbs (according to my bathroom scale, Saris hasn’t published its weight). I won’t leave it on the car regularly. That it weighs less than my wife’s bike is important, since I put it on and it take off. It’s easily in and out of the 2 in receiver, one handed at that weight, and I’m pushing 60. Went 70 miles at 75 MPH and everything was great in the rear view mirror. Anti-sway straps, hitch connection... all worked perfectly.

#2 reason: functionality. It tilts, so getting and putting away the ratchet wrench is convenient with a hatchback. It holds 4 bike, (have only done two. The arm length and cradle spacing seem more than adequate, though).

Comparative shopping: Looked A LOT at the Thule Apex/Vertex bike hitch rack market leaders. They are 50% to 100% more expensive and weigh 100% to 150% more. Not the value I was looking for. The Saris has fixed cradles; Thule’s move and got criticism for moving with bikes in place, though it’s hard to understand how.

Other tips: put the lightest bike on first. Lifting up and over three sets of cradles is hard. Would love Saris to come up with a ratchet strap that is easier to use for the cradles and seat tubes. My finger strength is declining. I like the threaded hitch pin. Locking the bikes with a cable lock is easy. A hitch pin lock is next on the list.

Time will tell but with a 5 year warranty Plextor feels like they are putting thier $$ on the line which makes me feel good that this drive will last and whether a few bytes faster or slower is not as important as reliability - so what if it's 10 bytes faster if gets an error and blows up a OS that's much more important to me - this drive has ECC built into it and from the data they show on the site spec page it looks good and it has bulit in security with AES - I was using a Crucial M4 but I could not get the firmware update to load so I took it off line and replaced it with this drive - I didn't feel any speed difference but I feel better ---

Schwinn Turismo Single Swivel Stroller, Green/Black Review

This will be my second Schwinn Swivel wheel stroller as the first was a great find many years ago. The changes from the older model to this one seem to all make sense - with the exception of the very tiny and not very loud speaker...

It's definitely not what I would consider "true" joggers stroller - and it's no longer marketed as one - however it's good for the light/occasional jogger who wants to handle a lot of rough & uneven terrain. That's what my family puts it through and it feels stable and easy rolling on grass, gravel/solid dirt paths, over train tracks and rough asphalt. Add to that the fact that it's a fraction of the price of any competitors, and you have one heck of a great value.

I've mounted a Graco "Air 35" infant seat to the stroller - and it feels as firm a connection as any 'universal' stroller. The straps that lock the seat into place have small pockets on each side they can be tucked into when not needed - which is convenient. The bottom bag can feel a bit tricky to get into - but holds a diaper bag a few lightweight raincoats and a mostly full bag of vegetables from the local farmers market - so room enough for our needs.

PROS:
* The adjustable handle is great - and when moved into an upward position - allows the unit to stand with a good amount of stability.
* The space between the legs and front wheel 'fender' seems much better designed for bigger kids legs.
The handle is grippy enough - without feeling sticky.
* The air-filled tires are great!
The wrist strap fits me better than the older model and has Velcro to keep it on the handle and out of the way when stored or not needed.
* The handles for lifting (at the pivot point where it folds) are great for moving this into the car into the house and around the house
* The cup holders are much more functional than the past model, and more functional than other stroller cup holders I've used (though I wouldn't recommend them for any hot beverages or beverages without a tight fitting lid unless you want to risk covering yourself and your child in it)
* Fits in some pretty amazing spaces. I've taken it into many stores with no problem and fits into the hatch and trunk of our cars.

CONS:
* It's larger than a standard stroller (if you like 'umbrella strollers' this isn't for you) and can seem fairly large when folded
* It may take a few days and a trial run or two to get used to exactly how it all works.
* The shade is improved, but still doesn't cover from all the elements by itself
