Honeywell Model 2203 Steel Fire and Security Safe 1.01 Cubic Feet Review

This seems to be a very solid safe, all steel, 1 hour fire safe and water resistant. The lock mechanism was very dry and stiff to operate but it is easily accessed and after a few drops of oil it works smoothly. The mounting hardware included was for concrete so be prepared to supply your own lag bolt and washer if you want to mount it on wood. Overall I am very pleased with the safe and would recommend it.

I shopped hard for this safe and with the free shipping Amazon's price was the best, better than from the factory.

The packaging from Honeywell and Amazon were both woefully inadequate. This is a heavy object and should be far better protected for shipping. The Honeywell packaging was a minimum of styrofoam and that box was very beat up. Amazon only protected the corners in their box allowing cave in. The safe was quite battered, dented in the top and chipped paint in one spot. Since this does not effect the function I chose to keep it. I advise that you open it in front of your shipper and do not give clear receipt if there is damage.

I just received the Caribee Sky Master 70 today, and I am impressed. This is a very well designed pack. Everything that should lock, does. The daypack locks to the main bag. All except the smallest exterior openings all lock. The zippers are very substantial (unlike my last bag that I ripped the zipper apart on its 3rd trip. Inside it has real compression straps. Not the flimsy straps or cover that just flops over your clothes, but real compression straps. The separate shoe pocket was a nice touch as well.

I will know more once I've loaded it for our upcoming trip to Europe next month, but the backpack suspension is much more than I expected. It's not the form fitting, uber-engineered system of a Dana Design I used to own, but it is far superior to anything I've seen on hybrid-rolling piece of luggage. And when not in use, all the straps on the main pack and the day pack all pack away very nicely. The concern that was top of my mind when I ordered was would the waist belt be long enough for my 46 inch waist. It is plenty long with several inches to spare.

If you are looking for a hybrid rolling-backpack piece of luggage, pay very serious attention to this bag.

BARSKA 25x100 WP Cosmos Binoculars Review

Great for landscape viewing very powerful. BUT for astronomical use, you must also by an expensive, rugged tripod with pistol grip upon which the binoculars will sit and be brought into position for the sky. So what ever the price of the binocs..it will be double before you can actually use them. Also very difficult to look up in the sky (above 45*) without a viewing chair... So now you've spent another $100+ as it must be vertically adjustable.
Also, you must have smaller binocs (10-50 or less) to act as viewfinder, cause when look through the large astro binocs it's almost impossible to find what you wanted to see..
So now you're up to around $800+ and still really need a viewfinder for the binocs....and so it goes....and goes..etc.

If you still want astro binocs spend more and get angled eyepieces.

Sigma Sport ROX 9.1 Triple Wireless Computer, Black Review

I was replacing a Polar - I decided on Sigma Rox 9.1 after reading the manual online. I was hesitant but hopeful. It took me a while using it to get the hang of it, but gradually I came to understand it and like it. It's not intuitive off the bat, but once I got a feel for the features, I understood how to make it do what I wanted. It's a very well thought out design, making it very simple to use (after some practice) while maintaining a lot of functionality. The heart rate strap seems very good with no drop-out problems. Software is good for logging rides and Rox unit set-up. I also like the fact that ALL batteries are user changeable.
My caveats ---
I really wish there was Linux software.
It will NOT log heart rate alone, it must have speed (or cadence?) active to log. I wish it could also do heart only, but it's not a deal breaker.
The speed sensor fork mount can be a problem. It has rather large gutters for optional rubber band mounting. On my large carbon forks, I can barely angle the sensor to keep the head and gutter out of the spokes. The instructions are afraid you will have too big a gap, whereas I had almost no gap anywhere on the fork. After some thought, I did manage a good setup by mounting the spoke magnet reversed with the magnet to the wheel center. Because the sensor is so close to the spokes, it still is in the correct range and works flawlessly. The gutters are kind of a neat idea for easy bike changing, but got in my way.
Summary - after 200 initial miles, I am very happy I bought it.

Mongoose Pro Wing Comp Dual Suspension Mountain Bike (16-Inch Frame) Review

This bike has a 6061 aircraft quality aluminum frame with aluminum alloy for forks and a alloy steel rear triangle. Easy assembly with basic hand tools within 30 minutes. you will need a tire pump since the tires are only partially filled at the factory. The shifters needed some adjustment to get in the correct gear which was easy. The bike features quick release hubs, (front and rear), a quick release seat post and thumb styles shifters. The bike has a very smooth ride compared to a traditional hard frame and could be even smoother if the tires were switched to comfort style tires but that would limit the bike to paved surfaces. My son who is more of an avid rider that myself said this bike was better than his Diamondback Outlook.
Overall, if you are looking for an entry to mid level bike that is better than the run of the mill department store stuff. this might be your bike especially during the August clearance sale when they change year models/colors. The free shipping and no sales tax makes it even more attractive.
