Seahorse SE-720F Waterproof Protective Hardcase with Foam (Camouflage) Review

I received my case last week & was excited to pick n pull the foam in order to start using this to carry handguns or a few other important tools depending upon the task at hand. While the price on this case is waaaay better than the Pelican counterpart I cannot say they are nearly the same. I own a larger travel Pelican case with wheels built in that has functioned well between boats and flights. Comparing the Seahorse to my Pelican shows me there are definite differences. This Seahorse case has only 2 latches, which is common for smaller cases, and the latches seem much less hardy than Pelican's are. The air-lock within the Seahorse is under one of the latches, which is a bit odd but still works. I think the latches are workable despite not being too hardy, and the unconditional lifetime warranty puts any fears about them failing at bay. My main beef with this case compared to Pelican is that it does not appear that the seal fully seats in the middle of each wall. I mean, there are seeming gaps between the lid and main body of the case even when it is latched closed. It has held pressure differences for a bit (I know because when removed from a hot car and brought into a cool house and opened there was a hissing of the pressure-relief prior to full disengaging of the latches), but I'm not trusting a swim in the lake to this hardcase. You get what you pay for & regardless of whether this is waterproof it will likely meet most of your needs, as it has mine.
