This jacket is so thin & light it is hard to believe it will keep one warm in the winter but I have been pleasantly surprised. I use this as a top layer with 2-3 wool layers underneath for cycle riding down to 20 degrees in perfect warmth without getting steamy & sweaty. The windbreaker material on the front panels is effective at blocking the wind, while heat & moisture escape from the arms & back. On very cold gusty days you can feel the wind penetrate the arms but I have not found that to be uncomfortable, but it is perceptible.

The garment has also held up well to a few slips & falls while mountain biking in the snow, ice, & mud. The material looks thin & delicate but has not torn or snagged, and so far shows no worse for wear.

I am a lean 6'1" & 160 lbs and the medium fit leaves room for a few thin layers underneath without being tight. A size small would probably give someone my size a snug cycle jersey type fit.
