I’ve purchased cheap junior golf sets in the past but now that my kids have gotten a little older (9 and 11) they are beginning to take private lessons and I decided it was time to upgrade the quality of their clubs. I have been very happy with the Callaway Junior club set; here are a few reasons why:

1. Cheap junior sets are heavy and unforgiving lumps of metal. These are built like the adult sets: titanium driver, perimeter weighted irons, modern hybrid, a muscle back wedge, a good putter and a very good bag. These clubs are much more forgiving than the cheap sets and easier for kids to learn with.

2. I don’t believe in this case you are paying extra for the brand name; The entire set costs less than one adult club of similar quality. I suspect this is a way to introduce Callaway to future golfers.

3. There is a good market on eBay for Callaway junior clubs, when your kids grow out of these you can sell them. Cheap sets go in the garbage can.

Sizing: They are a bit long for my 9 year old boy (he has to choke up a little) and perfect for my 11 year old girl. I believe they will use them through 12 years of age.
