Stamina Avari Easy Glide Rowing Machine Review

Overall, the rower seems to be built well but the tension/resistance is too much for me, even on the lowest setting. I thought there was something wrong with the shock so I contacted Stamina. They were very helpful and sent out a new shock right away. However, the resistance is still very high, even on 1. When I rotate through the tension settings, I can't tell much difference between number 1 and number 12. On the rowing machine at the local YMCA, I can row for 30 minutes without stopping. On this one, the most I can do is 2 minutes and I have to rest. I don't know if there is something wrong with the rower or if that's just the way these are made. I can't imagine what it would cost to send it back, so I guess I'm stuck with it.

On the plus side, putting it together was simple and I haven't had any trouble with any parts breaking. It's light and easy to move around, too. The monitor seems accurate and I really don't have any complaints other than the tension being way too high. I suppose if you're a very strong rower it would be ok, but if you want this just for general exercise, I would consider something else.
