2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ROOF RACK CROSS RAIL BARS OEM MOPAR Review

I waited as long as i could to see if any better options became available for the new Grand Cherokee, but i finally needed them for a trip. There is still no other choice! Basically, what see is what you get, and they are not as functional as the stock rack on my old 2000 Grand Cherokee.
Pro: They are very sturdy. Definitely stronger than the ones on my 2000 G.cherokee.
Cons:
1. They are too tall... and for no apparent good reason.
2. They are difficult to adjust. You need to unlock both ends, slide the rubber insert back and forth to expose the screws, and you need to use the special allen wrench (included).
3. They have nothing to hook a bungee to! There are no loops or eye holes anywhere to secure a bungee cord!!

These bars were designed by idiots in my opinion..... no to mention the rails on the Cherokee which are very short.
Simply strapping a few 10 ft 2x4's to this roof rack is a bit scary..... never a problem on my old cherokees (i've owned 3 before this one.)
The new 2011 Cherokee is awesome in some areas, but boneheaded in other areas.... don't get me started!
These are good quality bars... but a lame design.... Get them if you need them.... but wait if you can, for something better.
