- With the lowest center of gravity of any kayak/canoe sail available, the WindPaddle may be the safest sail you can buy
Product Description
The WindPaddle Cruiser Sail is a self-launching, self-standing sail designed primarily for canoes and tandem kayaks / boaters. The Cruiser keeps all of the lightweight ease-of-use features of the WindPaddle Adventure Sail but cranks the power up a few notches for the heavier boats. It has a 50% larger sail area than the Adventure Model. The WindHarness (patent pending) allows you to quickly attach your WindPaddle onto any boat or switch between boats in seconds. If your boat has anything that can be clipped to - including deck lines, cleats, bungees, pad eyes, fairleads, thwarts, handholds on the gunwale or bench seat - you can probably attach your WindPaddle to it! Deployed diameter - 56" (142.24 cm.). Coiled/folded diameter - 20" (50 cm.). Sail area - 17.1 sq. ft. (1.589 m²)WindPaddle Cruiser Kayak/Canoe Sail (Red / White) Review
I'm a long distance canoeist. My family and have 3 open water canoes and thanks to the 3 cruisers sails we own we can turn our 20 mile days into 30-40 mile days. They are very durable and easy to deploy (pops-open in less than a second due to spring-like metal frame) and collapse (takes 3-5 seconds after you've had some practice) even while on open water. You can even tack at 30-45 degrees into the wind by shorting the anchoring lines on one side or the other. Speed can be controlled by flexing sail into a smaller shape or merely lowering it's profile. Easy enough to operate that my 10-year-old can do it. Provides thrust in as little as 5-7 mph breezes and can withstand any speed of wind that you and your canoe can. The Large transparent window makes it easy to see where you are steering. Turns canoeing into pure bliss! An awesome canoe accessory for all serious canoeist. Notice that the other 2 reviewers have no actual experience with this product? They are merely talking out of their butts. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "WindPaddle Cruiser Kayak/Canoe Sail (Red / White)" are high quality item.
