Ok, so you have a little one and you like going to the beach with a ton of equipment. Coolers, canopies, beach chairs and toys. You see moms and dads out there dragging strollers, coolers with wheels and tossing 40 pound "easy up" canopies over their shoulders. Meantime you're never parked as close as you'd like and you're herding little kids. The big question is, will a $200+ balloon tire cart solve your problems? Will it actually work as described?

In the case of the Wheeleez folding beach cart the answer appears to be a definite yes. The cart weighs 18 pounds and folds up as in the pictures here on Amazon. It takes a couple of minutes to set up, but is fairly simple. Strapping the tires on as shown makes a neat package for easy storage. I've only used this cart once so far (just got it), and loaded it up for its maiden trip to Cocoa Beach. The sand is soft and hot, and pretty much anything else I've tried sinks right down making dragging a pain. As you can see from the pictures I've included I had a full cooler (drinks and ice), a 10x10 canopy (maybe 25-30 pounds?) and beach chairs strapped on using the supplied straps. I'm guessing I had at least 50 pounds on there, probably more. The cart handled very well and was pretty easy to pull in the sand considering the load. A definite winner and I'm happy with my purchase.

On the negative side (nothing is perfect is it?). The design and construction of this cart is pretty stout, and the rubber grommets on the frame make it a bit tough to pull out. The axel is solid steel, and quite heavy. It also looks like it has plenty of opportunities to scratch your car up if you are distracted during loading (like when your yelling at kids to stay away from other cars). The tires are very low pressure plastic and very soft (which is why they work so well. The instructions say to check the pressure with a low pressure tire gauge and to fill up only with a bicycle pump to avoid over inflating. The problem is, most people (unless you have an ATV or something else with balloon tires) wont have the proper gauge. Also, the Schrader valves in the tires are recessed so far in I was unable to get my digital tire gauge or my bicycle pump to attach to it. Fortunately, this was not a problem as the tires were probably factory filled to the correct pressure and worked fine. Another thing to consider is that the cart came with instructions on how to repair a punctured tire. My guess is that these are prone to punctures and that replacement tires may be expensive. None of the items mentioned above change my mind about making this purchase, but for this kind of money I'm going to be a bit more critical than I normally would be.

One last thing. When I opened the box I noticed one of the plastic clips that hold the steel axel was broken. The piece that broke off was in the bottom of the box, so I'm assuming the damage happened during packing or transit. There is also supposed to be two small plastic caps on the bottom tubes to protect the cart from scratching things. One of these was missing (not in the box). I wrote an email through Amazon to the vendor requesting replacement parts. I received a notice apologizing for the discrepancy and a tracking number for the replacement parts which I expect to receive in a day or two. So while I was disappointed the cart came with missing/broken parts, I am happy with the customer service of the vendor.
