I bought this wetsuit primarily for swimming, it keeps me very comfortable when the water dips into the 30's even when I go for longer swims. It is flexible enough for swimming but does have a lot of drag. I swim with fins on so the drag doesn't bother me that much and I don't race so speed really isn't important to me. I'm not sure if a tri-suit would have been a good solution to 35-45 degree water so I bought this to be safe, and it is an awesome suit for the price, I'm happy with it.
