3x A-Focal Lens #22 (Nyx14, optional: Sirius, Spark, Nyx7, PS7 w/adapters) Review

I got the 3x Focal lens for my Spark for use when weapons mounted to increase my hit ratio at distance when hog and predator hunting. I almost did not make the purchase due to my extensive experience with the military's 3x Lens, which is heavy, not that clear, and causes some fish eye effect. The Armasight unit however, had none of those issues. It provided a crystal clear picture all the way to the edges of the FOV with no fish eye, and it's really not all that heavy. It increased my ability to make hits at 150+ yards to 300 yards, which was the limitation of the range I was using. With ample ambient light, or a quality Illuminator, I think I could produce hits on E-type targets at further distances. The Illuminator I am using is the Armasight IR810W focusable illuminator, which allowed me to focus the beam down very tight, which is great for longer ranges. It is incredibly light as well, and small, so it can mount to the weapon itself, a helmet, or directly to the Spark, which is how I am running it. All in all, the three items make for a great combo that didn't break the bank. I have quite a bit of experience with night vision, after serving in the 82nd airborne as a designated marksman and team leader, and these items still impress me for the price. My shooting partners, mostly military and LE, liked the Spark and the accessories enough that several have gotten, or plan on getting their own. I don't think you can beat it without spending several times the money.
