Product Description
The Swiss dagger (often called -InchBaselard-Inch) was a popular weapon with the Swiss pikemen throughout the 15th and 16th centuries. Swiss daggers were not usually issued as ordinance weapons, but purchased privately by soldiers as secondary weapons. The characteristic hilt features the same crescent-shaped pommell and crossguard as the original daggers, but now feature rust resistant stainless steel instead of iron. Their curved shape appeared as early as the 13th century and remained unique to Switzerland. The blade is marked with the authentic Boker logo, which was used throughout the 1930's in Solingen. The marking -InchDeutchland-Inch (Germany) and a serial number on the reverse side of the blade guarantee the same high quality on every knife that leaves our factory. Blade length: 8 5/8-Inch. Overall length: 14 1/8-Inch. Weight: 9.1 oz.Boker Swiss Dagger Review
Excellent craftsmanship in every detail. Growing up I often wished for a dagger like the WWII Swiss dagger I often admired hanging on the wall in my cousin's room (Szco Supplies NSKK German Dagger). I don't care so much about war memorabilia or antiques. This costs less, is in better condition and made of better materials than most of those. I just like the way this looks. It is a functional work of art from bygone eras. Now, one is hanging on my wall.
